Within the project “Old mountain for new generations – Towards accountable and inclusive biodiversity protection”, last week we held a two-day study visit for students from the Faculties of Biology, Geography, Forestry, Architecture, and Organizational Sciences.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore the flora and fauna of Stara Planina through an interactive program, practical examples, and fieldwork, while also learning about the challenges of conserving natural resources and sustainably managing protected areas.
A particular highlight of the study visit was its multidisciplinary approach – by bringing together students from different fields, the visit facilitated the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and perspectives, as well as the networking of young professionals who will contribute to sustainable development and nature protection in the future through collaboration and innovative approaches.
The project is implemented within the BESTbelt project, with financial support from the European Union.
