Today in Pirot, we held the second consultative meeting with institutions within the project “Old mountain for new generations – Towards accountable and inclusive biodiversity protection.”
Representatives of protected area managers, municipalities, and tourist organizations from the Stara Planina region had the opportunity to learn in more detail about national and local nature protection policies and to discuss the challenges and opportunities for conserving Stara Planina, which is in the process of being designated as a National Park.
The project is implemented within the BESTbelt project, funded by the European Union.
