By accepting the commitments from the Paris Agreement and the Green Agenda, Serbia has, in fact, agreed to initiate a comprehensive energy transition – as a social transformation that will significantly increase the share of renewable energy, reduce pollution, increase competitiveness and ensure a fair transition of those sectors most affected by the changes.

The aim of this project is to raise awareness of the public about the negative effects of thermal power plant pollution in the Republic of Serbia and educate citizens on the energy transition to renewable energy sources. The campaign is also meant to increase the accountability of public authorities regarding this matter and to raise the transparency of thermal power plant operators in Serbia. The campaign will focus, on the one hand, on informing the public about negative effects of pollutants on the health and lives of individuals, and on the other hand, presenting possible solutions in terms of the energy transition to renewable sources of energy.

The project will be implemented from the 15th of July until the 15th of December 2021 with the support of CRTA and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
